Endomines Finland has extended its gold concentrate sales agreement with Boliden Commercial, securing a sales outlet for all flotation concentrate produced at the Pampalo gold mine in eastern Finland. The revised commercial terms are expected to increase the Finnish miner’s annual net profit by €1.7 million to €2.3 million.
The agreement covers concentrate containing gold, silver and copper. Endomines expects improved profitability through changes to concentrate marketing and greater flexibility in metallurgical optimisation.
Revised Commercial Terms and Processing Flexibility
The extended agreement provides Endomines with greater certainty over concentrate sales and processing arrangements while allowing adjustments to metal recovery and concentrate-grade targets to improve overall economic returns.
The commercial value of these adjustments depends on the relationship between metal recovery, concentrate quality and costs associated with treatment, payability, penalties and transportation. Producing a larger volume of lower-grade concentrate can increase metal recovery, but the financial outcome depends on the terms under which the material is processed and sold.
The revised arrangement gives Endomines greater flexibility to balance these factors without increasing ore throughput. The projected earnings improvement is based primarily on commercial and metallurgical changes, rather than higher assumed gold prices or a major expansion of mine capacity.
For Boliden, the agreement secures continued access to Nordic-produced precious-metal concentrate for its processing network. For Endomines, it establishes a defined commercial outlet for production from the Pampalo operation throughout the contract period.
Pampalo Earnings and Karelian Gold Line Development
The expected profit improvement could strengthen Endomines’ cash generation and support its broader development strategy along the Karelian Gold Line, where the company is pursuing resource expansion and potential future production growth. Additional internally generated funds could help finance exploration and development activities, reducing the company’s reliance on repeated external equity financing.
The agreement does not add new mining capacity, and the projected earnings benefit remains a company estimate. Its financial contribution will depend on whether the revised concentrate marketing strategy delivers the anticipated improvement.
Dry-Stack Tailings Evaluation at Pampalo
Endomines is also assessing changes to mine-waste management at Pampalo, including a pilot programme for dry-stack tailings.
The initiative forms part of the company’s operational efforts alongside the revised concentrate sales arrangement. While the sales agreement targets improved commercial returns and metallurgical flexibility, the tailings programme focuses on mine-waste management at the existing operation.
