SAGA Metals Secures Full Ownership of Wolverine Rare-Earth Project in Labrador

SAGA Metals has completed the acquisition of Catalyst Rare Metals, gaining full ownership of the Wolverine heavy-rare-earth project in Labrador, Canada.

The transaction, completed on 10 July, provides the TSX Venture Exchange-listed company with a 100% royalty-free interest in the project, allowing SAGA to retain full control over future exploration, development decisions and potential financing structures.

Wolverine Project Covers 29,450 Hectares

The Wolverine project covers approximately 29,450 hectares in Labrador and remains at an early exploration stage. Less than 10% of the property has been drilled, leaving future project advancement dependent on additional exploration activities, mineral resource definition and metallurgical studies.

The acquisition provides SAGA Metals with ownership of the project without an existing royalty obligation, preserving flexibility for potential future joint ventures, strategic investment arrangements or project financing.

Early-Stage Development Requires Further Evaluation

The Wolverine acquisition represents an exploration-focused asset rather than an immediate mine development or project financing opportunity. The project does not currently have a defined mineral resource, feasibility study, established processing route or permitting package required for conventional project debt financing.

Future valuation of the asset will depend initially on exploration results and SAGA’s ability to finance drilling and technical work while managing potential shareholder dilution.

Royalty-Free Ownership Supports Future Development Options

The absence of a project royalty provides strategic flexibility as the company evaluates the economics of developing a heavy rare earths asset. Heavy-rare-earth projects face uncertainty around processing economics, with downstream separation activities potentially representing a significant portion of total development capital requirements.

SAGA’s full ownership position allows the company to retain greater exposure to future project value as exploration, resource definition and metallurgical evaluation progress.
