This expansion more than doubles the project’s resource estimate to 15.4 million tonnes, with a grade of 1.0% total rare earth oxides (TREO), up from 7.1 million tonnes at 1.09% TREO reported previously.
The rapid growth of the Korsnäs project is attributed to extensive drilling campaigns and a comprehensive reassessment of historical core samples, alongside an updated geological model that enhances confidence in the continuity of mineralization. This expansion, achieved within just eighteen months, maintains stable grades, suggesting that the increased tonnage reflects high-quality resources rather than marginal additions—a crucial factor for the project’s long-term economic viability.
Notably, the revised resource includes around 137.9 million kilograms of TREO, featuring critical elements such as neodymium (Nd) and praseodymium (Pr).
