Arkadian Launches Swedish Court Action Over Finnsbo Exploration Rights

Arkadian Strategic Metals has initiated legal proceedings against McKnight Resources AB in Sweden over its claimed ownership stake in the Finnsbo exploration project, creating uncertainty over the company’s contractual rights and future involvement in the asset.

The AIM-listed company has filed a case with the Stockholm District Court, seeking enforcement of its rights under an earn-in agreement or, alternatively, damages for alleged breach of contract.

Arkadian maintains that it fulfilled the initial expenditure requirements under the agreement and earned a 25% interest in Finnsbo. The company alleges that McKnight sought to terminate the agreement while drilling was underway in November 2025. The dispute has not been adjudicated, and no court ruling has been issued.

Ownership Dispute Creates Exploration Uncertainty

The proceedings could affect Arkadian’s ability to commit further exploration capital and engage with potential investors or development partners while ownership remains unresolved.

Earn-in agreements are commonly used by junior mining companies to secure interests in exploration projects through spending commitments and technical milestones rather than large upfront acquisition payments. Disputes over contractual terms and project ownership can complicate development, particularly when drilling generates additional geological information.

Separate Horse Hill Transaction

Arkadian has also agreed to sell its interest in the UK’s Horse Hill oil project for approximately £137,000 in cash, plus warrants, subject to completion conditions. The transaction could provide additional liquidity but does not resolve the Finnsbo ownership dispute.

Investors will be monitoring McKnight’s formal response, the possibility of a negotiated settlement and the Stockholm District Court’s determination of whether Arkadian’s claimed 25% project interest is enforceable.
