GreenRoc Drilling Extends Amitsoq Graphite Mineralisation in Greenland

GreenRoc Mining has extended graphite mineralisation at its Amitsoq project in Greenland, with Phase III drilling expanding the lower graphite layer north of the previous resource drilling area. The latest programme extended the lower graphite layer by approximately 100–150 metres, with new intersections recording true thicknesses of 21.4 metres and 13.1 metres. The results are expected to contribute to further resource growth and feed into the next stage of technical work on the project.

Phase III drilling expands graphite zone

GreenRoc said the new drilling provides additional geological confidence ahead of the planned pre-feasibility study, which the company intends to begin by the end of 2026.

The drilling has expanded the known mineralised area beyond the previous resource drilling zone, providing additional data for resource definition and future technical studies. Amitsoq is being developed against a backdrop of European efforts to reduce dependence on imported battery materials and Chinese graphite processing.

EU support covers wider Greenland investment

The project has gained additional policy significance following the European Commission’s support for preparations for Amitsoq under the new €200 million EU-Greenland Global Gateway package. The €200 million package covers multiple sectors and infrastructure priorities across Greenland. No project-specific allocation for Amitsoq has been disclosed, and no EU or European Investment Bank construction loan has been announced for the project. The current support therefore relates to development preparation rather than mine construction financing.

Pre-feasibility study and financing remain ahead

Further progress at Amitsoq will require separate project financing, permitting, engineering and future offtake agreements. For GreenRoc, the next stages include the planned pre-feasibility study, additional resource definition and development of a clearer financing structure. Graphite remains a key battery material for which Europe has significant import and processing exposure, placing Amitsoq within broader efforts to develop supply chains aligned with European raw-material requirements.
