The race for critical minerals is intensifying as the world gears up for a significant shift in the supply chains of copper and cobalt by 2026. Concurrently, Japan and South Korea are forging partnerships with resource-rich countries to secure long-term supplies.

Investments in critical minerals could exceed $500 billion by 2030, driven by electrification efforts, renewable energy expansion, and industrial decarbonization initiatives. Mining projects are increasingly seen as lucrative opportunities for investors, offering returns that typically range from 12% to 20%.

Technological advancements are transforming mining operations towards greater sustainability through automation and renewable energy integration. As recycling practices gain traction, there is a concerted effort within the industry to reduce dependence on primary extraction methods.
