FireFox Gold has expanded mineralised zones at its wholly owned Mustajärvi gold project in Finnish Lapland, with recent drilling returning high-grade gold intersections in the Northeast and Central zones. The strongest assay from the latest programme came from hole 26MJ030, which intersected 2 metres grading 44.65 grams of gold per tonne from 118.6 metres depth. A second interval in the same hole returned 7 metres at 11.36 grams per tonne, including 1 metre at 57.9 grams per tonne with visible gold.
The hole was drilled about 56 metres west-northwest of a previous high-grade intersection, extending the known core of the Northeast Zone by more than 50 metres westward. Assay results remain pending for another hole drilled beneath the latest mineralised intervals.
Central Zone Drilling Returns Additional Gold Intercepts
Exploration also produced results from the less extensively drilled Central Zone. Hole 26MJ026 intersected 3.95 metres at 6.57 grams per tonne, including separate intervals of 1 metre at 14.9 grams per tonne and 0.75 metres at 14.45 grams per tonne.
Hole 26MJ027 returned 3.1 metres at 2.22 grams per tonne, including 0.95 metres at 6.02 grams per tonne. The Mustajärvi project is located between Kittilä and Sodankylä, approximately 17 kilometres east of Kittilä, in an established gold-mining region of Europe.
Nearly 29,700 Metres of Drilling Completed
FireFox and previous operators have completed almost 29,700 metres of drilling across the property. The work has identified several mineralised zones extending along more than 2 kilometres of strike. The deposit area comprises strongly altered metasedimentary rocks affected by shearing and brecciation, together with quartz-carbonate-tourmaline veining. FireFox’s interpretation of the latest results indicates a possible southwest continuation of the Northeast Zone, while the high-grade structures may extend beyond areas tested by earlier drilling.
Exploration Continues Across Multiple Targets
Mustajärvi has not yet reached the stage of a formal mineral-resource estimate, preliminary economic assessment or development study. Reported assay intervals represent core lengths, while true widths have not yet been established. The company is continuing exploration under its 2026–2027 drilling campaign, including work on the Gabbro and Triangle targets and the newly identified parallel Lammas structure. Results remain pending from the hole drilled beneath 26MJ030, which will provide further drilling data on the depth continuity of the newly reported high-grade mineralisation.
