European Green Transition PLC CEO provides update on rare earths project in Sweden

Aiden Lavelle, the CEO of European Green Transition PLC, recently shared updates on the company’s rare earths project in Sweden with Proactive’s Stephen Gunnion.

Lavelle highlighted a recent community meeting aimed at engaging local stakeholders. During the meeting, discussions revolved around a geology review and explanations of the planned drilling operations at the Olserum site. Lavelle stressed the project’s alignment with the EU’s strategy on critical raw materials and its significance in securing domestic supplies. He noted that the community responded positively to the potential benefits of the project.

In addition, Lavelle mentioned the successful conclusion of consultations for drill permitting, which aligns well with the company’s timeline. The drilling is set to commence in August, following the July summer holidays in Sweden. This schedule allows the company to proceed with exploration drilling and resource infill drilling as planned.

Lavelle also discussed the recent involvement of the Swedish Geological Survey. They visited the site to assess the new exploration model developed by European Green Transition. This updated model, based on recent fieldwork such as rock sampling and magnetic surveys, has revealed new mineralization areas and enhanced the geological understanding of the region. The visit coincides with their broader efforts to map the geology of Kalmar County, which are expected to continue over the next few years.
